How To Stay Healthy And Enjoy Life
Everywhere you look, someone is telling you about the benefits of healthy living and sometimes we may discount it as just another sales pitch. However, we all should make an extra effort to stay healthy and improve our quality of life.
- If you smoke, quit. A lot of Baby Boomers still smoke even though they know that it isn’t good for their health. There are a number of health risks involved with smoking including breathing problems, lung cancer, pneumonia and poor circulation.
- Limit your alcohol consumption. Health guidelines recommend no more than 2 beers or glasses of wine for men and only 1 beer or glass of wine for women pre day. Alcohol can lead to certain cancers and liver disease.
- Get some exercise. Twenty to thirty minutes per day is usually enough. This will give your muscles and joints a good workout and may help prevent the aches and pains of arthritis.
- Make sure that you follow a healthy diet. A lot of the diseases that Baby Boomers have such as diabetes, osteoporosis and arthritis can be helped by a carefully controlled diet.
- Get regular health checks. Make sure that your doctor is very thorough with your checkups and that you know and understand the results of any tests. There is nothing more important than your health so pay a lot of attention to it.
Baby Boomers that stay healthy will probably live longer and will certainly improve the quality of all the years that they have left. So stay healthy and enjoy life.
